Carlos Vieira, 78, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Maria F. Vieira for 51 years as well as a loving father and grandfather.

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores to the late Amancio and the late Maria Conceicao Vieira, Carlos worked at the Convent in the Santo Cristo Dos Milagros Church and also worked as a carpenter while living in Sao Miguel. In 1969, he settled in Pawtucket, RI where he worked at Interpak for 36 years. Carlos enjoyed being a member of the Holy Spirit Committee at St. Anthony's Church in Pawtucket, having served as the Mordomo during 1992. He was one of the founders and a former musician of the Banda Nova Alianca marching band also of St. Anthony's church in Pawtucket.

Carlos, a big animal lover and huge Sporting Soccer team fan, enjoyed art and working as an artisan woodworker. Through this hobby, he created many original pieces of beautiful wooden art.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Dennis Vieira and his wife Luisa M. Vieira of Rehoboth, Ma; a daughter, Sandra V. Souza and her husband Anthony Souza of Pawtucket, RI; beloved grand daughters, Vivian Vieira and Victoria Vieira; and a sister M. Eduarda Ferreira and her husband Antonio Ferreira of Pawtucket, RI. He was the brother of the late Gloria Esteves and brother-in-law to the late Armando Esteves. Carlos also leaves behind a brother-in-law and sister-in-law of Lincoln, Antonio and Alda Sousa, and two Godchildren, Pedro Sousa of Cumberland and Donna Sousa Carvalho of Lincoln.

Visitation will be at Keefe Funeral Home located at 5 Higginson Ave., Lincoln, RI on Sunday, November 28th between the hours of 2:00 & 5:00 PM. Funeral will begin at 8:30am on Monday, November 29th at Keefe Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Anthony Church, Pawtucket, RI. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
